Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo delivered remarks at the AIPAC Policy Conference at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC, March 25, 2019.
In his remarks, the Secretary focused on the threat of anti-Semitism and effforts to fight it at home and abroad. He said, "It’s a cancer metastasizing in the Middle East, in Europe, and indeed, sadly, here in the United States as well."
Here are some highlights from his remarks:
It was my pleasure to speak to #AIPAC2019 today. My message was not only to reaffirm the essentiality of the U.S.-Israel relationship, but also that the U.S. stands with the Jewish people and Israel in the fight against the world’s oldest bigotry: anti-Semitism. pic.twitter.com/skcCMOCALR— Secretary Pompeo (@SecPompeo) March 25, 2019
The rise of anti-Semitism & anti-Zionism strikes at the very foundation of freedom. The Trump Administration opposes it unequivocally & will fight it relentlessly, from the fever swamp of the UN Human Rights Council to the world’s #1 proponent of anti-Semitism: Iran. #AIPAC2019 pic.twitter.com/hdThNcBEY3— Secretary Pompeo (@SecPompeo) March 25, 2019
