#RoadtoGES Heartland Kicks Off

The Road to the 2019 Global Entrepreneurship Summit (#RoadtoGES) Heartland kicked off in Overland Park, Kansas on March 18, 2019. The event brought together more than 450 entrepreneurs, investors, and public and private sector leaders from across the American Heartland to network with each other, take part in a pitch showcase, and join dozens of cutting edge discussions.

In his keynote address, Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo highlighted the importance of championing entrepreneurship, innovation, and free enterprise at home and abroad.

The Secretary also shared his thoughts on 'why Road to GES in the Heartland', calling the Heartland, "an ideal place to do business."

Netherlands Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Sigrid Kaag also addressed the summit. Minister Kaag highlighted the United States-Netherlands economic partnership and previewed GES 2019, co-hosted by the United States and the Netherlands, to be held in The Hague, June 4-5, 2019.

Day One was a great success, and we look forward to the many highlights of Day Two!
