Will You Take the #PeaceDayChallenge?

The United Nations designated September 21 as the International Day of Peace.  As such, this day -- also known as "Peace Day" -- is recognized annually around the world and provides a "globally shared date for all humanity to commit to Peace above all differences and to contribute to building a Culture of Peace."

To answer this call and to help others rise to the occasion, the United States Institute of Peace launched a Peace Day Challenge to raise the profile of "Peace Day" and to affirm peace as a real alternative to the violence we see every day in the news.

It is all about inspiring a day of action on September 21, focused on building peace through real-life activities and sharing on social media at #PeaceDayChallenge.

Will You Take the #PeaceDayChallenge?

Today, we join the U.S. Institute of Peace and invite you to commit to the Peace Day Challenge by taking an action on or around September 21 and sharing it on your social media accounts.  If you're up to the #PeaceDayChallenge, share a photo, video, or message about how you or your organization is working to build or promote peace to help spread the word!
