In connection with the withdrawal from the JCPOA, the Administration laid out two wind-down periods of 90 days and 180 days for business activities in or involving Iran. Consistent with President Trump’s decision, the Administration will be reimposing specified sanctions after August 6, the final day of the 90-day wind-down period.
Today, our Admin will begin re-imposing harsh sanctions against Iran. The US withdrew from the disastrous nuclear agreement to negotiate a new deal that makes the world safer. We are determined to change Iran’s threatening behavior & keep them from ever becoming a nuclear nation. pic.twitter.com/9oq0lUN2j6— Vice President Mike Pence (@VP) August 6, 2018
90 days ago, @POTUS withdrew U.S. from the failed #IranDeal. Today, sanctions on the regime in #Iran were re-imposed to counter its malign activities. The regime must use Iran's resources to help its citizens, not support terror & enrich the leadership. https://t.co/hES0cmwjYc— Secretary Pompeo (@SecPompeo) August 6, 2018
