Secretary of State Mike Pompeo traveled to Singapore June 10 to participate in President Donald J. Trump's summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and bilateral events with Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

"The ultimate objective we seek from diplomacy with North Korea has not changed. The complete, verifiable, and irreversible denuclearization of the Korean peninsula is the only outcome that the United States will accept," Secretary Pompeo said during a June 11 press conference. The Secretary added that the pre-summit talks have moved quite rapidly and that preparations for the summit have "come together very nicely."
