Secretary Pompeo Travels to Brussels, Underscores U.S. Commitment to NATO

Secretary Pompeo Travels to Brussels, Underscores U.S. Commitment to NATO

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo traveled to Brussels April 26-27, where he met with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and participated in the NATO Foreign Ministerial.  He departed for this trip, which would be his first trip as Secretary of State, immediately after his confirmation -- no other Secretary of State in modern history has traveled so soon after confirmation. 

During the Ministerial Allies discussed preparations for July’s NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government meeting. Here are some highlights from the Secretary's particiapation in the NATO Ministerial:   

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Once he departs Brussels, Secretary Pompeo will travel to the Middle East, where he will meet with Saudi, Israeli, and Jordanian leaders to discuss critical regional and bilateral issues.
