Special Envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Rashad Hussain delivered the keynote address at the Center for the Study of Islam and Democracy's 11th Annual Conference on April 28, 2010.

In his speech, "U.S. Relations with the Muslim World: One Year After Cairo," Special Envoy Hussain spoke about the vision that President Obama articulated in his speech in Cairo on June 4, 2009, and discussed the ways in which his vision has shaped our foreign policy. He also outlined his goals and objectives as the new Special Envoy to the OIC, including strengthening partnerships with Muslim communities around the world on a broad range of issues.

Special Envoy Hussain said, "And this vision that the President has is really rooted in the fundamental belief that, while often times the dialogue between the United States and Muslim communities around the world has been dominated by issues like violent extremism and a lot of the hot political issues, that the fundamental aspirations of all people, all over the world, are the same. That people are looking for economic opportunities -- they want to make sure that they have an education, that their children have access to an education, that they have access to health care, and that they are able to take care of their families."

Is there a choice? A global world will force everyone toward interaction which is productive. It has to be or it will end up a 'last man standing' situation, which is not plausable.

The fear of losing National Idenity is being felt everywhere, especially here in the USA...and this notion is being used as a political football worldwide. Somehow leaders must re-enforce security to its citizen base and not just between each other.

Which is the Greater of the Lesser of two Evils....

US-Muslim relations must improve...having said that....Pakistan must end anti-Christian law and reign in Muslim extremist-Terrorists. We don't have much time to get our Af-Pak relations right. Last week's Times Square Terrorist shows that the attacks are sanctioned by the highest levels of Pak-ISI and military. We are at war with our own delusions.
