On Friday, February 6, the global community will mark the International Day of Zero Tolerance of Female Genital Mutilation/ Cutting (FGM/C). To mark this day, the State Department’s Office of Global Women’s Issues has launched its first-ever social media campaign to raise awareness and break the silence around FGM/C. We’re asking others to join us by sharing a photo of themselves holding up an end FGM sign on social media.

- If you do just one thing: Post a photo of yourself holding a zero sign using the campaign hashtags #TogetherForZero and #endFGM.
- Spread the word: Share our campaign with your social media friends and ask them to also take part in the campaign by posting their photo on International Day of Zero Tolerance of FGM/C on February 6.
- Learn more: Read about the powerful stories behind FGM/C and what we’re doing about it on an international level. Follow us on Twitter for the latest updates throughout the day, and subscribe to our office’s newsletter to get regular updates on the work we do to empower women and girls around the world.
