Secretary Kerry Delivers Remarks at the 2015 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland

Today, Secretary of State John Kerry delivered remarks at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. In his remarks, Secretary Kerry discussed combatting violent extremism.

"Let me be clear: There are no grounds of history, religion, ideology, grievance, psychology, politics, economic disadvantage, or personal ambition that will ever justify the murder of children, the kidnapping and the rape of teenage girls, or the slaughter of unarmed civilians, whether for ideology or for some false religious assertion -- none," Secretary Kerry said.  "No matter the input, this kind of atrocity can really never be rationalized; these kinds of actions can never be excused; and they have to be opposed with every fiber of our being. They have to be stopped."

"...The civilized world will not cower in the face of this violence. Violent extremism has claimed lives in every corner of the globe, and Muslim lives most of all. We are each threatened, regardless of faith, ethnicity, homeland, or tribe, and so it is imperative that we each -- all of us – respond. There’s no room for sectarian division; there’s no room for anti-Semitism or Islamophobia; and no way forward except to demonstrate to the terrorists that every time they try to divide us, they strengthen our resolve. Like the million souls that last week spoke with a single voice in the streets of Paris, we must act as one."

Secretary Kerry continued, "...Eliminating the terrorists who confront us today actually only solves part of the problem. We have to do more to avoid an endless cycle of violent extremism, a resupplying on a constant basis. We have to transform the very environment from which these movements emerge. And that’s why we are committed to enlarging our strategy in ways that respond effectively to the underlying causes, as well as the visible symptoms of violent extremism. That’s why we’re developing an approach that extends far beyond the short term, and which cannot be limited to the Middle East or to any other region."

Secretary Kerry then announced that President Obama will host a summit at the White House on February 18, 2015, to exchange ideas and galvanize support to address this issue.  You can learn more by reading the Secretary's full remarks here or watching them on

John Kerry, at at the World Economic Forum, who exactly are you talking to when you warn against blaming Muslims for extremist terrorism? We need to keep our heads? Are you serious? What do you want us to do, turn a blind eye and pull out our spine like you? Like you have always done? No one is blaming Muslims collectively! So stop with your B.S. you pathetic fool. You are a poor representative of the United States! You sir, do not represent the people of the United States! Yes, sure the majority of Muslims oppose the extreme Islamic terrorists, but…what are they doing about it? You and Obama love to flaunt the coalition forces you created. What a joke! If Muslims do not fight terror and we take a back seat, who will fight extreme Islamic terrorism? Today’s extreme Islamic terrorists are way beyond individuals. Who the hell just took over Yemen? An individual? Wake up and smell the B.S. spewing from your worthless mouth! No one believes you or Obama. You people are oblivious to what is going on in this world. Just step aside and let some real leaders do the job that all of you don’t seem to have the intestinal fortitude to do. You people (Obama administration) are doing more harm than good! Step aside! IT'S THE RIGHT THING TO DO! I will continue to call it as I see it, which is EXTREME ISLAMIC TERRORISTS! You don’t like it? Come after me you gutless bottom feeder!
