The challenges our global community faces require unprecedented collaborations across borders and sectors to create effective solutions. Certain partnerships go above and beyond, exceeding others in the level and outcome of their collaborative efforts. In this spirit, the Secretary’s Office of Global Partnerships (S/GP) will recognize organizations that illustrate the best impact of public-private partnerships (P3s) with a new partnership of its own!
S/GP will partner with Concordia and the University of Virginia Darden School Institute for Business in Society (IBiS) to confer the P3 Impact Award. This builds on our collaboration with both Concordia and IBiS during Global Partnerships Week (GP3), when we joined forces, along with Diaspora Matters, for a Google+ Hangout to discuss the critical role P3s play in promoting diplomacy and development around the world.
The P3 Impact Award will recognize and honor the leading public-private partnerships that are improving local communities and the world in the most positive ways. The award will give partnership practitioners the opportunity to reflect on current developments in P3 implementation, as well as the inspiration for further innovation.
With cooperation, transparency, and accountability, shared challenges can become shared opportunities. By demonstrating effective practices for collaboration and highlighting others’ successes, we can serve as a catalyst for those aiming to solve global challenges. By recognizing the best partnerships, we hope to bring out the best in others.
