This past weekend, Ambassador Samantha Power gave her first speech as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations to more than 1,500 young activists at Invisible Children's Fourth Estate Leadership Summit in Los Angeles. Ambassador Power told the group of college and high school students that, "since the most sustainable and effective policies are those with public support, your activism enables us to do more."
Ambassador Power asked the group what they "need and want the United States to stand for in the world," closing with a request for them to share their ideas with her using the hashtag #WhatMatters. The response has been incredible, and Ambassador Power will reply to some of your messages via a Twitter Town Hall this Thursday, August 15 at 3:00 p.m. EDT. Tweet your ideas and questions to @AmbassadorPower by then!
