Our "Photo of the Week" comes to us from President Barack Obama's recent trip to Seoul, South Korea for the 2012 Nuclear Security Summit. The Summit, attended by more than 50 world leaders, addressed securing the world's nuclear weapons and preventing nuclear terrorism. This photograph, taken by White House photographer Pete Souza, shows President Obama talking with U.S. Ambassador to Republic of Korea Sung Kim aboard Marine One during an early morning flight from Osan Air Base to the landing zone at U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan in Seoul, Republic of Korea, March 25, 2012.
While in South Korea, President Obama participated in an event hosted by the U.S. Embassy in Seoul that invited South Koreans to submit questions via social media. President Obama was able to answer the top three questions in writing, which you can view on the White House Blog.
After the trip, Assistant Secretary of State for International Security and Nonproliferation Thomas Countryman reviewed the Nuclear Security Summit in a video for the U.S. Department of State's East Asia and Pacific Media Hub. You can view the video here, and learn more about the Summit here.
