This week's photo comes from Kendra Helmer at USAID. USAID partner International Medical Corps distributed hygiene kits and helped patients at a cholera treatment center this week. As of October 28, the Haitian Ministry of Health has confirmed 4,649 cases of cholera and 305 deaths. USAID, the Centers for Disease Control, and the Department of State are working closely with the Haitian government and with other international partners to respond to the outbreak.
If you would like to donate to relief efforts, you can find a partial list of humanitarian organizations that are operating in Haiti here.
State Department information about the outbreak is here; a USAID fact sheet is here.
USAID also has available additional photos of their response.
