Today's "Photo of the Week" takes us to the Pacific Ocean, off the coast of Southeast Asia, where the USNS Mercy gets fueled at sea by the USNS Amelia Earhart, with the JDS Kunisaki not far behind.

The photo comes to DipNote courtesy of the U.S. Navy's LT Marissa N. Myatt, which is appropriate for a whole-of-government project such as Pacific Partnership 2010. As Foreign Service Liaison Officer Thomas Weinz, aboard the Mercy, has been chronicling on this blog since March, Pacific Partnership 2010 (PP-10) is an ongoing international partnership that brings medical and engineering expertise directly to the regions that require it. This year's Pacific Partnership visits six countries: Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Timor Leste, Papua New Guinea, and Palau.

The picture reminds me of the Israeli flotilla incident in which an American was killed and in which nearly all the video evidence of the actual incident was confiscated by the killers of 9 people and not released.

Any comment on that, Mrs Secretary of State?

All I am asking is that you uphold your obligation to this country although I doubt you actually read any of these comments. I have never seen a response. The leaders of this nation from my view appear to have lost their backbone along with their integrity. The integrity is what I worry most about.

Oh MERCY! I was fortunate enough to tour the USS Mercy when it was in Hawaii recently.

What a great ship!
