She is currently on assignment at the U.S. Center in Copenhagen."Hi, this is Susan Elbow from the United Nations Conference on Climate Change, here in Copenhagen. This conference is the focus of the world's attention, and that means that there’s just lots and lots of media here. And, in fact, today I heard that whereas last week there were some 1,500 credentialed journalists, this week that number has gone up to 3,000. Right now, I am standing just outside the main big briefing room, in an area where journalists have their cameras set up to do a lot of stand-ups with principals who come out after the briefings.

The U.S. delegation just like every other delegation has an assigned daily time for its briefing. Most days our briefer is Todd Stern; he is the U.S. Special Envoy for Climate Change and the Head of Delegation. In today's briefing, he emphasized the enormous efforts being made -- the meetings late into night, the huge number of negotiation sessions taking place -- all trying to find common ground to reach an agreement.

You can find these events streamed live every day on the UN's webpage. We also put the transcripts of every daily briefing up on the State Department's COP-15 website, so check that out. There are still three days left to go in the conference and the U.S. delegation is growing every day. Of course, we're all anxiously awaiting the President's appearance on Friday. So, check in with me again tomorrow as I bring you more information about the activities taking place here in Copenhagen."
