Special Envoy Sada Cumber at UN Interfaith Session

About the Author: Sada Cumber serves as the U.S. Special Envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC).

This week, I was in New York -- along with President Bush, over 30 other heads of state, and other leaders from around the world -- to participate in the UN’s high level plenary session on interfaith issues. The interfaith conference came into being at the initiative of his Majesty King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. The President delivered remarks to the session on Thursday, underscoring the strong U.S. commitment to freedoms of religion and expression.

I was particularly taken by the President’s comments about his own faith and its impact on his life. He added, "I know many of the leaders gathered in this assembly have been influenced by faith as well. We may profess different creeds and worship in different places, but our faith leads us to common values."

During my stay in New York, I had the opportunity to meet once again with Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, Secretary-General of the OIC. I have greatly benefited from my interaction with the Secretary-General since being appointed in February as U.S. Special Envoy to his organization, and I believe our conversations have strengthened the understanding between the U.S. government and the OIC.

The interfaith dialogue was, I believe, a significant step toward improved understanding between people of faith. This has been one of my goals since assuming this position, and I have spoken with dozens of government and religious leaders around the world in recent months who share that perspective. I find that a very hopeful sign.

The next step, it seems to me, is to take these themes to our schools and playgrounds, dinner tables, social gatherings, mosques, churches, and synagogues. I will be doing just that, not only as United States Special Envoy, but as a Muslim and an American. I invite you to join me in that effort.

It is unfortunate that we cannot separate faith from religion in a manner which is productive for all. It is the primary culture impute for most civilized societies and even with common bonds of development for humanity, weapons are picked up before debate all too often because of Religion, not faith.

More people have perished over false Religious grounds in wars throughout mans history than any other premise. Even today the propaganda use of differential views hinged on Religious beliefs are used to spur otherwise peaceful people toward hate and discontent...educated, or not, rich or poor, it is still the bond which can hold love or hate better than any other between mankind.

I admire President Bush as one of few people who did change; but, all too many Americans use this premise here to offer false hope while filling their own coffers, living like Gods themselves. They use an abundance of Governmental resources without paying taxes at the State or Federal level, putting the burden on everyone else for their existence while publicly diminishing those who have needs and no work. While these false profits may offset the view by donations, etc of monies not theirs to begin with, it is deception in its truest form.

If we are such a society of religious base, why then are there such an abundance of false prophets here who can evade civil and common law? We set a very poor example in that regard by not monitoring of such people who have power by deceit. On top of all, they are stealing tiddings from the local and ture of heart faith wise. I have heard this from those of other faiths regarding American Christianity and they are valid in essence. It is one of the central points of hypocrisy here in America itself and used quite well in propoganda.

I am afraid the overall defraud and use of Religion has deluded Faith to a secondary position by both the U.S. and worldwide. The realization of this and an attempt to form a more common bond is to be applauded -- but it is individule.

If we all believe in God and "in God we Trust", where then is He in these trying times? Perhaps we set up a system where we all put money before God, using Him as some refuge for support by printing His namesake on the greatest tool of Mankind other than our minds and hearts. We deligated authority to another power.

Where does God begin again with humanity should be the question.

Show me in the Bible where God needed money ever?

What does God need with money when he is the master of everything!

A STRANGER VISITS YOUR HOME. DID YOU EVER THINK FOR ONE SECOND OF YOUR LIFE THAT YOU MIGHT OF BEEN VISITED BY THE MOST HOLIEST PERSON IN THE WORLD?

WHY CAN'T ALL MEN AND WOMEN, ALL RELIGIONS, ALL FAITHS, ALL GENERATIONS OF FAITH, ALL COLORS, ALL PEOPLE PERIOD JUST LEARN TO ACCEPT EACH OTHER ON EARTH, RESPECT OTHER PEOPLES RELIGON AND GET ALONG! WE DON'T HAVE TO PRACTISE YOUR RELIGOUS FAITH, BUT BY GOD YOU SHOULD RESPECT OTHER PEOPLES BELIEFS. THE HATE THAT EXISTS BETWEEN PEOPLE IS "CANCER." WE WILL NEVER BE CURED OF "CANCER" UNTIL PEOPLE LEARN TO LOVE EACH OTHER ON EARTH. LEARN TO ACCEPT AND RESPECT OTHER PEOPLE, LEARN TO UNDESTAND EACH OTHER. LEARN THAT GOD CREATED ALL PEOPLE ON EARTH FOR A REASON. NO MAN OR WOMAN IS HIGHER THAN GOD.!!!

"I walk through the shadows of the light which God has shined in my direction. He has always been my "lighthouse." I can walk anywhere on earth because that is the footsteps of my path. I can see in darkness and know the way of passage. If blinded my senses become greater and my sense of alertness becomes enhanced.

THE BOOK OF LIFE!

People forget before you can be entered into Heaven you must be written into this book of life. Every act and deeds you commit on earth will be Judged by God in the end but if you fail to be entered into the most holiest book in the world that God has created, you may not have passage into Heaven!

The United States Governement cannot continue bailing companies out because of the reaching effects it has on other businesses. When you bail out one company, then you must bail them all out. When you reward failure with bonus, you creat chaos.

CREDIT (CREDIT CARDS, LENDING, HIGH INTEREST RATES)

THIS IS THE TRUE PROBLEM IN THE UNITED STATES

IF THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT REALLY WANTS TO HELP THE PEOPLE OF AMERICA. THE SOLUTION TO THIS WHOLE PROBLEM IS SIMPLE. STOP GIVING THE MONEY TO THE BUSINESSES THAT FAIL.

MY MOST HUMBLE SUGGESTION TO THE AMERICAN CONGRESS AND WHITE HOUSE IS THE FOLLOWING:

INSTEAD OF GIVING EVERYONE IN AMERICA A SMALL TOKEN OF MONEY THINKING IT WILL HELP THE ECONOMY. IT WILL NOT.

ONE TIME (ONE HOUSEHOLD PERMITTED TO RECEIVE A BOND)

WE HAVE OVER 300 MILLION PEOPLE IN AMERICA THAT LIVES IN OUR COUNTRY. THE US TREASURY DEPARTMENT SHOULD CREATE A BOND FOR EACH HOUSEHOULD WORTH 1 MILLION DOLLARS. PUT A MILLION US DOLLARS IN A BOND TO EACH FAMILY HOME ACROSS THE COUNTRY AND WATCH THE ECONOMY EXPLODE! INVEST IN THE PEOPLE OF AMERICA NOT THE FAILED BUSINESSES OF AMERICA. NEW BUSINESSS WOULD EMERGE, SMALL BUSINESSES WOULD TAKE-OFF. NEW IDEAS, NEW HOPES, NEW DREAMS, NEW EVERYTHING WOULD HAPPEN FOR THE PEOPLE OF AMERICA! THE WORLD WOULD BE IN SHOCK! THIS CRISIS WOULD BE OVER! PEOPLE COULD AFFORD TO PAY OFF OLD DEBT. BUY NEW CARS, PAY OFF THE MORTGAGES OF HOMES. PEOPLE COULD LIVE LIKE IT WAS THE GREATEST DAY ON EARTH!

THE STOCK MARKET WOULD HIT THE HIGHEST PEAK IN THE WORLD. THIS WOULD CREATE MORE JOBS! THE RETAIL MARKETS WOULD GO CRAZY! THIS WOULD SAVE ALL COMPANIES ACROSS OUR NATION!

300 MILLION DOLLARS (ONE MILLION DOLLARS PER FAMILY) VICE THE 700 BILLION DOLLARS THAT CONTINUES TO PAY FOR THE SAME PEOPLE TO DO THE SAME THINGS!

Interfaith meetings at the U.N., Mythology should be the least of concerns to this defective institution that failed to bring peace, justice and law and order to the world.

Judaism (Babylonian Talmud) is an ancient Zionist dream that contrived fraud such as David Kingdom, Solomon Temple and other fairytales that after 150 years of digging in the Middle East and discovering few millions of hard scientific, Archeological evidences, not one discovery proved that Babylonian story telling was true. Christianity is much more than fraud, it is nothing more than a crime against humanity. Its principal deity, Jesus of naserathrath never existed, except in the figment of imagination. Archeology proved that Naserath was built in 200 AD. The only physical evidence discovered that will point to the possible existence of Jesus, the Josephus text, by all experts now proven an inserted fraud, a s the earlier manuscript of the same text found later day not to contain that silly inserted scam. Islam, is not even worthy of being called faith, it is a pagan rituals that makes its idol Allah the proven Moon God SIN its supreme deity demanding absolute worship and archaic rituals that are demeaning to humans. Archeological evidence now day prove, without a shadow of doubt, that Allah, by this exact name was worshiped in Syria, Lebanon, Mesopotamia and even parts of Persia, not to mentions Arabia, Centuries before Mohammad proclaimed him as supreme being of Heaven. In fact Mohammad father, Abdullah -- slave of Allah -- and Uncle had the Allah name way before Mohammad proclaimed that Gabriel enlightened him with this knowledge.

Neither Jesus and his father, nor Moses and his Elohims and neither Allah the Pagan Idol of Hadramout and Babylon are referring to the same one god as Moslems ignorantly proclaim.

A fair interface meeting, should have included not just the insanely ignorant believer of Myths and Paganism, but also sane representatives that understand the science and politics behind these myths, the scam of the ages that were devised by Alien entities to control and enslave mankind, deceive their ways of life and spirit away from the true spirituality and into paganism, Idolatry and Consumerism.

A better use of resources would have been better spent on Ending Wars and human rights violations than a sorceress and rain dance priests-Charlatan.

I enjoyed this post. People here in the Boston area encounter religious diversity at the colleges, and there are several vibrant chaplaincies (like the M.I.T. chaplaincy or Boston University). The Boston Theological Institute unites over 20 schools of theology, across a wide spectrum within the Christian faith, and when I studied at Andover Newton Theological School, we did many joint projects with Hebrew College (www.ants.edu). We often look for chances to learn more about the Muslim faith, and related cultural topics. I'd like to be included in future gatherings if you come to the greater Boston area.

One fascinating theme for me is how world religions balance "certainty" and "doubt" moments in the human experience. What do the sacred texts say about the limits (mystery) of human relations, and what faith (practices, rituals) makes visible (vs. what is keep secret in the heart-conscience).

Many thanks.
