I just wanted to appreciate the vital supports that has been given to landmine survivors in Yemen. We landmine survivors in Kabul also received some great support from State Department of USA. Your support empowered many of my fellow landmine survivors who were traumatized and isolated from their society. I would like to encourage the State Department and WRA to increase its generous support to landmine survivors in affected countries like Yemen and Afghanistan!
Thank you from bottom of my heart!

Dr. Rajivshah, USAID:

The action and assistance taken by the Humanitarian Mine Action Program and with the YALS initiative is a great step in the right direction.

There are many issues in need of assistance in Yemen today; lack of drinkable water, poverty, illiteracy among the youth, recruitment of the youth by Islamic fundamentalists, corruption within the government, tribal and separatist conflict, on the contrary, it is good to hear that through the Humanitarian Mine Action program, and the assistance provided by USAID, that we are improving the livelihood for some individuals who have been physically and psychologically damaged, YALS gives them hope and better prospects for the future.... It is these types of rehabilitation and assistance programs that are part of the reconciliation process for the victims of land mines, they help improve the lifestyle for many, and send the right message for Yemeni society, the U.S. and the U.N. are willing to provide assistance and that we care about the suffering of other people in the developing world.

Great article, thanks for sharing this one!
