@ T.J. in UK,

If EFT was trying to escape Snowmaggeddon, I think he went to the wrong place. I gather you've had your fill of that fluffy stuff!

I know I have here in the wild, wild West, we just got dumped upon once again.

@ EFT:

You are 100% correct. The Baath Party in Iraq wanted to be left alone to kill the Kurds and the Shiites and who ever else that, they felt like killing. Why should Amricans give up their lives to bring freedom to others? The Russians invaded Afghanistan and carried out total random killings and destruction. I have not heard much complaint about them ever. Have you moved to the UK because you think it is safer for YOU? It is NOT.

I hope for the best in Iraq with it's election. Promoting Freedom and Democracy at work. It's good when people can vote freely without being harassed, threatened or killed to vote for a leader.

Now there's a curiosity... I don't suppose EFT ever thought that just maybe for all the trouble it was to remove one dictator from power, that it was a good idea to insist that the Iraqi people didn't simply replace him with another, lest we have to come back again in ten years and do this all over again.

Right, so instead we help them stand up "the worst form of government ever invented, save all the rest", and leave Iraq in the good hands of the Iraqi people as they become able to help themselves. And he's still got a problem with it.

I guess each to their own, but what's even more curious to me is that EFT chose the UK to move to, being that the Brits have been in the thick of it from get-go along side the US and many other nations.

Why do I get the feeling he's a bit off the mark in his reasoning?

He's unhappy here, still unhappy there...makes no difference to me. He doesn't speak for Iraqis.

Methinks EFT's got some personal regrets and is looking to blame them on others.

I used to live in the US, but now I live in the UK. This is one of the reasons why. Why does America feel as if it has the right to tell others how to live? Many of the locals do not want your "help." Leave them alone and get out of their country.
