Today's Washington Post highlights how Secretary Clinton is making women’s empowerment a foreign policy priority.
Last week, Secretary Clinton traveled to Africa. Today’s Washington Post features an article by Mary Beth Sheridan, who writes about Secretary Clinton’s efforts make women’s empowerment a cornerstone of U.S. foreign policy.
In an interview in Kenya, Secretary said, "[T]he role that women have to play in any society is so critical, and it’s particularly critical in Africa, where too many women are impoverished, they’re marginalized, they’re unable to really obtain the tools of education and healthcare for themselves and their children, and then it perpetuates dependency, it perpetuates the cycle of poverty. And that’s especially important because women are the tools and the real drivers of change in their own families. I mean, there’s that old saying: You educate a man, you educate a man; you educate a woman, you educate a family."
While in the Congo, Secretary Clinton held a roundtable discussion with NGOs and activists on sexual and gender-based violence and announced that the United States will provide more than $17 million in new funding to prevent and respond to gender and sexual violence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

WOMENS take an important place in USA government.
Womens are the basic stable of family and often in africa women are power . the policy to educte, to work in society is a good policy for africa counties and generally for humanity . WOMENS place is not one man concern but all the governments program development for each nation.
