I heard Danny L. McDaniel -- a former Sloan Fellow and Indiana Governors' Fellow -- speak on televsion about the need for the US to engage in re-industrialization and having the U.S. to get its economic house in  order before America can ever again have leverage in international trade and economics. In his views we have to engage China industrially the same way we engaged the former Soviet Union during the space race of the late 1950's through early 1970's.]]></description>
