2) The increased number of defamation lawsuits filed (and won) by senior members of the Cambodian People's Party;
3) The lifting of parliamentary immunities of members of opposition parties.

Cambodia is showing significant gains in human development, but there are still acute concerns over land-grabbing, governmental corruption, child exploitation and the fundamental violation of the rule of law. Miss Mu practiced and now still practices her ethics of justice and fairness in a land that struggles with ethical issues. Your support of her is profound.

Mrs.Mu Sochua is a HEROINE!

She is RESPECTED amongst so many Cambodians living here in America; she definately speaks for the people(especially the ones who dont have the courage to standup-she risks and stands up for all of us).

She has INSPIRED me soo much. I'm only eighteen years old, but I have been following Cambodian Government & Politics since I was fifteen (When i went to visit my family in the country and having a realization of it's third world state.)

As an American of Cambodian origin, I am writing to express my appreciation for your support of the on-going democratic process in Cambodia and to highlight some of the vital changes that were implemented by the current government of Cambodia.

Even though I have been always aware of your good service to our country and people through your position in the United States, your recent correct characterization and the intentions of the people behind it has encouraged me to write you this piece. I have seen a few comments addressed to your name posted on the internet by individuals and groups working in the interest of Cambodia's Human Rights and Rules of Law.

The current government has brought so many negative changes to Cambodia. Here is lists of some of the unethical action of the current government in Cambodia that I believe are must mentioning:

*The Judiciary System: Out of its conviction to justice, the government has not established an independent court system that works for the people. In today's Cambodia, justice is not served for every citizen; innocent people get penalized for a crime and high rank government is above the law.

*Parliamentary system: The government has no truly representative parliamentary system comprised of members elected directly by the people and responsible to the people.

*The Freedom of Speech: Not consistent with the constitution to materialize, the government has not given people rights to speak the truth about their wrong doing in the country. If they do they will get charge with defamation and will be prosecuted. The freedom of speech is a milestone underachievement for the people of Cambodia.

*The Human Rights: Citizens, politicians and journalists critical of the government face violence and intimidation and are barred from equal access to the broadcast media. In addition, the judiciary remains weak and subject to political influence.

*Illegal Evictions: Recently, the evictions were carried out with excessive force by the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, military police and civilian police officers armed with guns. Illegal eviction in Cambodia have caused thousands of families to lose their land, homes and livelihoods, and left them destitute

In conclusion, with the support of freedom loving countries such as the United States, Cambodia future will be bright and promising. To this end, I ask you, U.S. Security of State, to continue your support to Cambodia and to compress Cambodia government to open its arm and extending its hand to work with all opposition groups in the country for the betterment of Cambodia. Once again, I would like to thank you for your attention.

Please help Cambodia to get out from dictatorship regime. Our people have been sufferred long enough. They are enduring the pain every day with this regime. ONLY USA can help savage Cambodian people.

Thank you so much Madame Secretary. Please help ensure Mrs. Mu's safety on her return. She is a leader, a human rights activist, and an inspiration to all of us who wish to see Cambodia remains on the right path to democracy.

Please help push for the passing of corruption laws, the respect of human rights and dignity. Cambodia needs no stronger man but stronger instutions. We really need a better system of check-and-balance since all powers are concentrated purely on a single branch of the government.
