@ SNP in Syria -- I just read on the news that Isreal pulled out of Gaza. I think we all would like to see peace between Isreal and Hamas/Palestinians. I believe it goes farther than just getting United Nation resolutions. Both sides need to communicate and break bread not heads over there. The first step in peace is being a good neighbor. How does Hamas explain making home made rockets if they are truly upstanding towards peace? It's equally interesting about Isreal how they continue to press knowing the innocent people that were hurt in this war. If I had all the answers, I would be the richest person in the world. I do know this we all can live together in peace without war, we can communicate freely and have some faith for mankind.

My prayers will always be for peace and goodwill to mankind. We all can be good neighbors without destroying our flags. We can break bread, drink wine and celebrate and not destroy human life! Then people of all generations can sit down with each other and enjoy the company, not get into arguments over settlements and continue destroying. My simple solution is both sides need to dine with each other and party like it's 1999. Open the bubbly and drink, eat and have a good time. Blast the music and just party in the streets. Both sides need to offload all the anger that exists between them. A party just might end this turmoil once and for all. Open the wine bottles, eat jewish and arab food, and just have fun for a change!

@ Donald in VA.. Not just Iraq, the U.S. has been spreading fears for most of the 20th Century the world over, why you think United Technologies is practically solo in rising revenue. Peace sounds good, so why not start by having Americans insists that Israel implements all U.N. resolutions passed since 1948. After all, American envoys on behest of the leadership did vote in favor, did not abstain or vetoed them. You may also ask your Secretary Clinton to abstain in the future from vetoing any U.N. resolution passed by the majority members of SC. That will be a good start and may establish a convincing argument for those that call for peace in the Middle East. So far all we see is death and destruction by the Israeli Irgun and Hagganeh Terrorists.

@ SNP in Syria -- I personally would never embelish in anyones fear. It serves no purpose. I have been to Iraq and know what Fear really looks like and have spent years in the Middle East. I understand more than you realize about your culture, your beliefs and customs. We Americans have been trying to be the buffer zone between Jews and Arabs and it's almost like trying to calm two bulls in cage.

The problem is that when Terrorist have conducted many dirty acts of violence in the world and expect the United States to sit back and do nothing. Everyone can jump all over President George W. Bush but he did something. He took a stand. He was committed until his departure. We all might not agree about how he did it but he still held his ground.

The new Administration coming into office will hold its ground. We will continue standing and defending our freedom in the United States of America.
I say to the country of Syria that we want Peace and open those doors of communications between our Nations with respect. Keep in mind that when Arabs in the Middle East destroy our flag we remember. The part that everyone forgets is everyone needs a healing process.
I'm so grateful that you'll be guiding the work to bring sanity back to U.S. interactions with our sisters and brothers of every nation. Your words during your confirmation hearing gave me such hope:
"Our foreign policy must reflect our deep commitment to help millions of oppressed people around the world. And of particular concern to me is the plight of women and girls, who comprise the majority of the world's unhealthy, unschooled, unfed, and unpaid. If half the world's population remains vulnerable to economic, political, legal and social marginalization, our hope of advancing democracy and prosperity is in serious jeopardy. The United States must be an unequivocal and unwavering voice in support of women's rights in every country on every continent."
Our daughters need a strong, clear voice to speak out for them everywhere in the world. Thank you so much for being that voice.

Oh happy happy day! Madame Secretary, I was your biggest supporter for Sec. of State! - I know for a fact that there has been no Sec. of State before you more well-traveled, more knowledgeable about world issues, more able to positively advance U.S. policy goals than you! Wow, just wow! I travel the world, Madame Secretary, and everywhere I go in the world, I see pictures of you, in Chiang Mai, Thailand, in Morocco, in India and in my beloved Nepal! This past march I was in Chitwan national park - a special special UNESCO world heritage site- I told the villagers outside Chitwan - "you know, Hillary Clinton has been here to Chitwan with her daughter Chelsea, they took an elephant ride through the park." They were disbelieving - Hillary has been here, here in our village - are you sure? They asked me. Yes, I replied very sure-it was about 10 years ago - you're young, you might not have heard about it then." They just stared at me in disbelief, that such a high U.S. Official knew their part of the world. But Madame Secretary, you do know the developing world like few other Americans! Yes indeed, Madame Secretary, if anyone can reach a mutually agreeable resolution concerning the intractable problems in the Middle East - as well as in all other parts of the world-my faith lies squarely, squarely with Hillary Rodham Clinton's ability to do it! Congratulations on your new confirmation!

@ Donald in Virginia -- Better not think too hard, because your thinking is wrong. We appreciate Mrs. Clinton, an accomplished achiever, regardless of her policies. 300 million Americans are not a threat to Syria. We survived Assyrians, Babylonians, Greek, Roman, Ottoman empires, Genkizkhan, few crusaders campaigns and modern day genkiz, the Khazzar of Israel and we still kicking, pushing and punishing.

Peace with the murderous Khazzars? They don't want peace; they want to sell guns and rob Middle East oil. If we open our doors for these Khazzars we all will be living like Gazan. If they seriously want peace, why not start implementing the few dozens U.N. passed resolutions since 1948. So don't read fear mongering into the comment, I never forget the scared face of her and kid when they left Syria earlier than Bill, just wants to know what happened, that is all.

Today is a great day, thank you for your public service.
